BE A FRIEND AND SUPPORT YOUR LIBRARY

Becoming a Friend is easy. Simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch with more information.

Our Friends group meets once a month for a potluck dinner and meeting, usually the first Monday of the month, and more when needed for big event planning. Meetings are optional. We also have a fun quarterly Friends Get Together. After submitting the form below, you can join our Friends-only discussion forum on this website in the top right corner.

Step 1: Choose your membership level


All memberships are active for 12 months, aside from Lifetime level.

​

  • Individual - $25

  • Business -  $50

  • Lifetime Member -  $250

​

Business Members: For $50 a year, you can publicize your business and support the Friends of the Jarrell Community Library. Benefits include:

​

  • Web logo to publicize your support of the Friends

  • Your business name and a link to your business’ website on our Friends of the Library website

  • Mention of your business’ support in the Friends social media.

​

Step 2: Choose how you would like to help

​

  1. Fundraising

  • Investigate fundraising opportunities in support of library needs (programs, equipment, furnishings)

  • Plan and coordinate library fundraising activities (e.g. festival, book sale, cookbook sale, etc.)

  • Find and obtain grants, ect. 

 

2. Library Operations

  • With coordination by library staff, volunteers are needed for shelving materials

  • library displays and bulletin boards, computer assistant/trainer, and many more opportunities.
    *Friends Dues may be waived if committing to 6 hours or more per week of Library volunteer hours. 

 

3. Library Programs

  • Help plan programs for children, teen and adults, like a magician, a puppet show, an author reading, special clubs, etc. 

 

4.  Advocacy

  • Those interested in promoting the library as a viable and essential service to the community; might involve attending events, or promoting events via word of mouth, social media, ect.

5. Other

  • Unable to commit to specific duties, but would love to support the library by becoming a Friend and paying dues.

*Some volunteer areas will require an Application and background check.

If you know that would like to work in the library as part of Daily Operations or Programs, please go ahead and submit the Volunteer Application.

Step 4: Make your payment for the correct amount of your dues as chosen above.​
